โ๏ธ Off-Grid Solar Power rules

Unplug all phones and high-draw electronics at night.
Use power heavily when the sun is shining.
Recharge battery devices during the day before sunset.
Use water sparingly; never leave faucet running.
Turn off lights when leaving any room.

We are not a luxury hospitality business, nor are we a shelter. We are a self-sufficient community of explorers.
Please keep drunken shenanigans to a minimum.
Absolutely no fighting or illegal drugs.
Dorm kitchen food is free-game to share! Label personal food in the fridge, and discard expired items.
๐๏ธ Shared Housekeeping & The Bed Sheet System
There is no maid service. Guests make their own beds, wash any sheets/towels used, and leave the room clean and tidy for the next traveler. If you didn't bring your own sleeping bag, you must use sheets to protect the bedding.
The Sheet Color System:
๐ฃ Purple Room: Purple sheets belong here
๐ข Green Room: Green sheets belong here
๐ด Red Room: Red sheets belong here
๐ Orange Room: Orange sheets belong here
๐ต Bunk House: Blue (Twin size) sheets belong here
๐ค Extras: Brown/tan sheets (fold & shelf in Dorm House)
Before checking out, wash and dry your used linens. If someone before you forgot, you may need to check the washing machine, clothesline, or the shelves in the Dorm House living room to find folded sheets.

Grants is a practical resupply and rest stop on your journey across the American Southwest.
Whether you're taking zero days off the trail, repairing a bicycle, or visiting El Malpais National Monument and the surrounding volcanic ice caves, our location puts you close to town grocery stores, restaurants, and gear suppliers.
Yes! We accept resupply packages for confirmed guests. Mail them via USPS, FedEx, or UPS. They are held securely in our delivery bin behind the Dorm House. Make sure to clearly mark your Name and estimated arrival date. Click the "View Shipping Address" button under our logistics section for the exact address format.

Yes. For your physical security and safety, we have security cameras active in public and shared areas of the hostel, including all exterior property lines, the main living room, and the shared kitchen spaces. However, your personal privacy is incredibly important to usโthere are absolutely no cameras or recording devices in personal areas like bedrooms, bathrooms, or shower spaces.
Correct. Part of how we keep prices so low is by running a community-reliant housekeeping system. Every guest makes their own bed, washes and folds their used sheets/towels, cleans up after using the kitchen/bathrooms, and sweeps or vacuums their space before checkout. Leave the hostel "better than you found it."
Our property runs on clean solar power. While we have robust battery storage, electricity is finite at night. Out of respect for the batteries, we ask all guests to charge high-draw devices during peak daylight hours, turn off lights immediately when leaving rooms, and restrict outlet usage after sunset.
